Our Curriculum
Curriculum statement
Mrs Neale is our Curriculum Lead should you have any specific questions relating to our curriculum or for support regarding learning from home.
When children leave Pearson Primary School, we expect that they are academically ready for the demands of the next stage of their education and that they are highly effective at interacting with the world for the benefit of themselves and others.
Our curriculum is shaped by the five pillars of the HCAT signature and the two Pearson Key Drivers. These drivers help to make our whole curriculum offer relevant and responsive for our children and their unique needs.
Our two key drivers are:
Achieve
‘Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out’
Nelson Mandela
At the heart of our ACHIEVE principle is the belief that all children can succeed, regardless of their starting points. Through purposeful repetition and consistent practice, we focus on embedding foundational fluency so that every child builds the skills and confidence needed for lasting understanding.
Communicate
‘Language shapes the way we think, and determines what we can think about’
Benjamin Lee Whorf
COMMUNICATION is a key driver of our curriculum. We believe that the ability to articulate thoughts, listen actively, and respond appropriately is fundamental to learning and life. Our curriculum deliberately weaves communication into every subject – through structured talk, rich vocabulary, and meaningful writing – enabling pupils to become confident speakers, thoughtful listeners, and effective communicators.
